Toby is a freelance photographer living on Mayne Island (one of BC's Gulf Islands) with a base in Vancouver's West End. Though his interest in photography started as the school yearbook photographer in the 60's, his professional career did not commence until the 80's where he freelanced for the Vancouver Courier newspaper. He soon became the photojournalist and advertising photographer for the North Shore Weekender, a weekly newspaper. During that time he was both a writer and photographer freelancing for a variety of publications and organizations.

Since returning to photography in 2007 he as taken an interest in people, environment, photojournalism and High Dynamic Range photography. His art was recently accepted into the Sidney Fine Art Sho. As well, he has had images published in the Globe and Mail, Victoria Times Colonist, Island Tides, Mayneliner, Pacific Yachting, Vancouver Sun, Aqua Magazine, and The Coast Guard. His images are on display at the following locations: Artcraft, Salt Spring Island; Trading Post, In-Vision Gallery & Sunny Mayne Bakery, Mayne Island; Boot Cove Books & Saturna Pub Saturna Island; & Miraloma Hotel, Sidney, BC. www.tobography.com.
