Rocking the Irish House for the 2010 Olympics

This week the Granville Entertainment Group launched their much-anticipated Irish House. It’s situated conveniently next door to one of Vancouver’s favorite Irish Pubs Doolins.  From the outside it looks much like many of the other large tents that are erected throughout the city for the Olympics.

Inside is literally a two story Irish pavilion.  The taps were flowing with Guinness and many of Vancouver’s media, entertainment industry influencers and well-known social media personalities were in attendance. Redbull of course brought their entire posse as well, which is part of the reason I did not manage to walk around the entire venue, they’re a seriously sociable company.

Much of the paint had literally dried the day of the launch and there was more than one Irish House staff member that was elated that they were finally ready to open to the public. The Irish House totals 9,000 square-foot and fits up to 750 people. It will be open to the public as of February 11th and has a full program of family orientated entertainment during the day. In the evening it turns into a true Irish Party house that can literally be heard blocks away.

They have big screen TV’s and HD projectors in almost any direction with coverage of the Olympic games and events.  The Emerald Lounge, Ross Kemp, and Mother Perch rooms are all wired and ready for corporate bookings too.  Although the full Irish theme and entertainment has yet to begin, the Irish House is ready to party.
